Kate's Raisin, Date, Nut Stollen (Yeast Free German Fruitcake)

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature but not melted
- 1 cup cream-style cottage cheese, drained (Not low fat or fat free, must have 4 to 8 percent milkfat)
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon fresh orange zest
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup almonds, chopped
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup medjool dates, pitted and chopped (about 7 to 8 large medjool)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- confectioners' sugar, for coating
